Bio:
I started doing sound in a church in 1975 at the age of 12 mixing on a Bogen mixer/amplifier to Argos column loudspeakers up stairs behind glass (is there any other way?) so I could run down stairs to hear what it really sounded like and then make the changes. I was taught by 2 guys that worked for the local Portland, Oregon TV stations.
I started doing gigs in ’78 and renting gear having my mom drive me in the family van with just about every band in the area when they found I was doing sound for the other one. One of the companies I rented gear from was His Sound in Gresham then Portland, Oregon who I went to work for as a salesman on the systems side in 1985 in Southern California. The company had financial problems and they sold to CCI systems in 1986.
I went to work for Frontier Audio of Riverside, California in 1989 as a FOH engineer and systems salesman. I started pushing my way into designing the systems I sold and eventually was doing so. I worked with one major show called Harvest Crusade (similar to Billy Graham) from ’89 – ’03. That was a stadium show at Anaheim Stadium and Jack Murphy Stadium usually in July and August.
in 1993 I went to work for CCI Systems as a Systems Consultant selling to large churches and stadiums on a National and International basis.
In 1997 I went to work for Peavey Electronics in Meridian, Mississippi in the Architectural Acoustics / Media Matrix side as the South Eastern US Sales Manager and Church Liaison. They moved me to be the loudspeaker products manager after a year when they were doing away with territory managers.
I went to work for myself in 2000 that was so successful that I took a job with Bose Corporation in 2001 as the NW Territory Manager for the Pro division.
in 2004 I did a short stint as an independent rep then went on staff at a large church until 2005 when I was hired to be the Western Region Sales Manager at SLS Loudspeakers. When they were having financial trouble in 2007 I became the first National Sales Manager at Danley Sound Labs and grew there company by over 500%.
In March of 2011 I took the position I am now in as Vice President of North American Sales at Penton Audio USA and we are starting to experience substantial growth with a very wide product line in DSP’s, Steerable Line Arrays, Voice Evacuation Systems, and a wide variety of Loudspeakers.
